Into the Zombie World

Chapter 107 - Overprotective Croc And Max

"Croc, kill that ugly dude!" Nile said after seeing the zombie\'s disgusting face.

The moment he spoke, the zombie suddenly snapped from its daze. It turned its head toward Nile, who had just spoken earlier.

The zombie screeches towards Nile as it stretches its body for an attack. Alas, the zombie was not able to pull what it wanted to do. Its head slid down from its neck. It dropped to the ground with a thud, followed by the zombie\'s body slowly falling to the ground. Just beside the rolling head, Croco\'s arm-blade was dripping with dark blood.

The three women were shocked senseless after seeing the zombie suddenly falling to the ground, dead. They looked at each other and everyone could tell the shock in their eyes. It must be noted that zombies during this time, the zombies were no longer the slow and only-bite type of zombie. They had already evolved to a higher level, where even themselves who had already evolved could not fight them one on one.

And then, here they are, staring at the incredulous scene in front of them. A crocodile had basically killed a zombie with a swipe of its hands.

They gulp a mouthful of saliva before staring at the carabao. The carabao was cutely savage, they must admit. However, they now knew that behind that cute appearance, was a strength comparable to the crocodile.

Gina\'s body was so tense realizing that fact. She suddenly felt that she was now riding a volcano. Meanwhile, Sarah was now hugging her hand tightly. She felt fortunate for not touching the carabao earlier.

Gretta was the least affected of the three. Of course, she was also shocked, but it mostly came from the fact that not only Nile, but even his pets were also strong. Gretta was still not an evolved human. No matter how many meditations she did, she could just not feel the Apocalypse Virus in the greenish substance. Besides, for their group, the Apocalypse Virus was a rare commodity.

Until she and Maria had still not evolved. They were lagging behind compared to the three, fortunately, the three evolved women didn\'t mind and didn\'t pressure them.

"Let\'s proceed!"

Gretta was awakened from her thoughts after hearing Nile\'s voice. Turning her head, she saw Nile walking over.

"Wait! aren\'t you going to collect the Apocalypse Virus?" Gretta said. She was expecting that maybe because Nile was already so strong, he might no longer need the Apocalypse Virus.

She thickened her face and said to Nile weakly. "Ca-Can I have the Apocalypse Virus?"

The three evolved women had not pressured her. However, not being pressured doesn\'t mean she doesn\'t want to evolve as well.

"You can\'t. The Apocalypse Virus has already crashed." Nile said pointing at the grounded meat paste on the ground. He obviously knows that the Apocalypse Virus was not an everyday product. If he could, Nile wanted to hoard as much Apocalypse Virus as possible. He wanted to evolve into a Level Two° human. The sooner the better.

He obviously wouldn\'t waste a precious 0.05 increment of strength just for some women he just met. That\'s why the moment Croco killed the zombie, he instantly instructed him to crush the zombie\'s head.

He could also reject them outright, but he doesn\'t want to be seen as someone that rude. Crashing the zombie\'s head was the only solution he could think of.

"Croc has that habit of crashing the heads of the zombies he killed," Nile explained while Croco rolled its eyes over. Croco\'s drowsiness suddenly went away after hearing Nile.

Seeing the meat paste on the ground, Gretta\'s shoulder dropped in disappointment. "Oh... I see!"

"Let\'s go!" Nile said again beckoning for Maximo to proceed forward.

Gina had not moved since earlier. It seems she was frozen in place, she was doing her best not to disturb the walking Maximo.

Along the way, Croco killed two more dazed zombies. Of course, Nile made sure that every kill was made by Croco, this way, he could tell the animals to crush the zombies for his excuse. Nile observed that the zombies were really not sleeping but only seemed to really be in shut down or something. And the moment they heard or noticed a commotion, they would instantly wake up from that trance.

Gretta could only drop her shoulders in disappointment every time she sees Croco crashing a zombie\'s head into a meat paste.

With the earrings of loyalty\'s function, Nile doesn\'t have the problem of collecting the dead Apocalypse Virus inside the zombie\'s head.

Nile glanced at his stats profile and thought that he was already getting nearer to the threshold of the Level Two° human. He couldn\'t help but wonder what would happen by then. He felt extreme pain when he evolved to Level One°, does it mean he would feel even more at Level Two°.

\'No! No! No!\' Nile immediately discarded that ridiculous thought. The System said that it was a one-time thing as his body was being remodeled for the first time. The next advancement shouldn\'t be that painful. Nile hopes.

Along the way, Nile also spotted countless rotting bodies along the way. The three women could only pinch their nose in disgust, trying their best not to puke their guts out.

With the mask\'s help, Nile didn\'t have to do something trivial like that.

After a few minutes, they finally reached an intersection road. Gretta pointed to the right road. Maximo walked and followed where Gretta pointed as per Nile\'s order.

Another minute and Maximo were forced to stop as the village road was blocked by a huge collapsed tree. Maximo looks at Nile asking for instruction. Nile shrugged his shoulders and took a look at the three women.

"We\'re here!" Sarah said.

She sauntered forward and swayed the fallen tree\'s leaves. An opening was then revealed and an open field greets their eyes.

In the middle of the open field was a dilapidated wooden house.

"Come in!" Gretta smiled towards Nile with an elegant wave of her hands, gesturing towards the house.

Nile nodded his and said with a gesture, "After you!"

Gretta thought that Nile was being a gentleman and she couldn\'t help but feel happy about it. She nodded her head and walked towards the leaf entrance.

However, contrary to Gretta\'s expectation, Nile was not being a gentleman. He wanted to make sure there was no apparent danger, or traps laid right after the entrance.

Seeing that nothing had happened to Sarah and Gretta, Nile nodded his head and was about to step inside as well when Croco stopped him midway.

Croco wanted to go in first. Nile nodded his head, he understood Croco\'s intention.

Croco stepped inside the entrance, he then looked back and nodded to Nile, indicating it was safe. Nile was just about to step inside when he heard a \'moo\' beside.

\'Yeah right there\'s still Max.\' Nile thought.

Maximo with Gina riding over his back stepped inside the lead entrance. Maximo was alert as he looked left and right like a detective. After a while, he straightened his neck upwards and looked back at Nile.

He stared at Nile and made a nod, with a serious expression.

Nile shook his head and smiled before finally stepping inside. His two pets were being overprotective, and he likes it.

This time, no one was there to stop him.

Or so he thought.
