The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 264 - 264 City E’s Decision <1>

His words reverberated inside her mind, causing her face to turn even redder. She opened her mouth slowly, “Even after that…?”

She couldn’t bear to say what she had done in City H. That painful scene and everything that had happened only made her want to forget everything. Thankfully, her memory seemed to support her decision as she could only remember bits and pieces.

The rest was only the whirlpool of emotions that made her chest tight, but she just had to make sure that she didn’t think of it.

“Yes.” Kyle took a deep breath and pulled Kate closer, hugging her. Kissing the top of her head, he whispered, “I’m not any better than you or even worse. What you did is just self defense, so don’t blame yourself.”

Everyone wanted to live.

It was just that their way of conveying that is different.

Some people didn’t care for other people’s lives and used them to survive but some others couldn’t be so cold hearted and tried to maintain their bottom line. Kate belonged to the latter, but this incident had completely broken her bottom line.

Once the bottom line had been broken, it would never be the same anymore.

.....

Kyle knew this the best.

Because he had experienced it in the past. The moment what he treasured the most was touched, he didn’t care about anything and already destroyed a lot of people’s lives.

The reason people feared him was not because of his background.

But because of what he had done in the past.

And Kyle couldn’t guarantee that such thing wouldn’t repeat itself should what he treasured the most was hurt.

“Ok.”

“Stay with me?”

“Yes…” Kate’s voice was very low.

Kyle’s mouth formed a smile as he hugged Kate tighter. He didn’t want to let her go at all in fear that he would lose her if he were to let her go even for a second.

The two of them stayed in the same position for a while.

*grumble*

Kate’s face flushed. She hadn’t eaten for more than a day’s time, so her stomach was complaining. She looked up, feeling so shy and embarrassed. “That… I think we should eat something?”

Kyle looked at Kate meaningfully and let out a faint laugh. “Ok, we’ll eat something.”

With that, he took out some food from the space. The two of them eat some food and seeing that it was almost night time, Kyle didn’t let Kate get out of the room.

“You should rest more.”

“Yeah.”

Kate now felt relieved. Even though she had slept for so long, she still felt sleepy right now. She looked at Kyle and chuckled a bit. “Kyle.”

“Yes?”

“I’ve reached rank 7.”

Kyle looked at Kate in surprise. He thought that her ability will increase, but he didn’t expect that the improvement would be this much. Oh right, she was already at the peak of rank 6 before.

He smiled. “It’s good.”

Kate looked at the ceiling and nodded. When she noticed it, she herself was also surprised. Her range was even wider and she could clearly differentiate people and other creatures now. Not to mention, their strength was very clear for her.

It was still in the form of white dots, but the shape and intensity had told her many things.

“Sleep now.”

“Ok.”

As Kate slept again, Kyle looked at Kate on the bed. The gaze within his eyes were incredibly gentle. After a while, Kyle walked out of the room and saw that the other three were sitting there, eating their dinner.

Lucy raised her head. “She’s awake?”

“Yes.”

Dylan looked at his best friend’s expression, noticing something, and asked a different question, “Confirmed?”

Kyle nodded but didn’t elaborate the matter. He took out his phone. “All that left now is City E’s decision. We can sneak inside and then enter our secret base or just build a tunnel from outside to enter inside. Anyway, no one else will be able to go there.”

With the supplies they had inside Kate’s space, it was estimated that they would still be able to live a lavish life even if they were to stay there for a long time. However, making another exit would be preferable so that they didn’t need to enter City E first.

“Well, you want to try going there?” Marc asked.

“Wang? Wang?” Robby waged his tail, not understanding what they were talking about at all.

“I’ll give a call to my father.” Kyle walked out of the living room to the garden outside. The call was connected in less than two rings.

“YOU DAMN BRAT! TELL ME WHERE YOU ARE NOW, YOU TROUBLEMAKER B******!”

Kyle had put away the phone from his ear to prevent his father from destroying his eardrum. Kyle chuckled. “Do you really expect me to go to City E after what had happened in City H?”

“Do you know that City H is completely destroyed? Countless giant mutated animals raided City H to the point that it’s completely unrecognizable. Some survivor soldiers accused you to be responsible for this matter.”

“Is it my fault?” Kyle chuckled, his eyes turned colder. “I thought it’s their fault for treating those reverse healers with such contempt and fear. Turning their fear to their entertainment, isn’t it something that these people do best?”

General Ryan felt headache when he heard his son’s words. In fact, he had been bombarded with various calls from many people who said that the mission in City H is a complete failure because everyone there died in the hand of Kyle’s group.

How could he explain the matter?

“I know about that. I’ve already reported the matter but the problem is that the higher up hated the reverse healing so much because his opponent awakened reverse healing and he’s using this to kill them.” General Ryan was tired of this problem.

There were two camps of politicians who were trying their best to be the leader even in this state where a lot of giant mutated animals were roaming around.

And their campaign was… hard to describe.
